Boards are People Too: Encouraging Planned Gifts from Your Board

Want to see board members more engaged in your organization's planned giving effort? Frustrated that they aren't eager and willing to lead the way? James Plourde, Vice President with Campbell and Company, will draw upon his 30+ years working with a non-profit board to explore the reasons why this might be happening and offer suggestions for how to get your board members "on board" with your planned giving efforts.

Featured Speaker: James Plourde, Vice President of Campbell & Company

James Plourde has the admirable ability to tell it like it is and work with you to get all of your stakeholders on board and moving in the same direction. With more than 30 years of development and marketing experience and several successful multimillion dollar campaigns under his belt, James is sought after for his collaborative, personable style and co-creative approach to training and motivating staff and volunteers.

Prior to joining the firm, James held leadership roles in three capital campaigns at Pacific Lutheran University that raised more than a combined $220 million, supervised annual and capital fundraising and public relations for Charles Wright Academy, and led corporate and foundation relations at Franciscan Health System (now part of Catholic Health Initiatives). James is committed to the advancement of the nonprofit sector and speaks regularly at conferences and workshops in the region.

James is past President of AFP (Association of Fundraising Professionals) South Sound, and he has also served on the board of the Children’s Museum of Tacoma.

James holds a Bachelor of Science in English from Southern Connecticut State University, a Master of Arts in Transforming Spirituality from Seattle University, and a Master of Science in Journalism from the University of Oregon.
