Welcome to the Washington Planned Giving Council!
The Washington Planned Giving Council believes that planned giving is an essential part of an effective development program, and we are committed to helping our members make planned giving relevant to their jobs and their organizations.
If you are a dedicated planned giving officer, major gifts officer, annual gifts officer or director of development with planned giving responsibilities, an accountant, financial advisor, attorney, or someone new to the field seeking to expand your knowledge, the Council provides a tremendous opportunity to learn from and interact with people who have the knowledge and the skills to make planned gifts happen.
WPGC is committed to providing our members and friends exceptional educational and networking experiences. At the same time, we want to continue to build a professional community that can help our members realize their gift planning goals.

Luncheon Programs

TOPIC: The Various Ways to Talk about Charitable Bequests with Donors and Clients Charitable bequests represent the easiest and most popular way to leave a philanthropic legacy with nonprofit organizations. Many professional advisors and development professionals, however, still hesitate to introduce this important topic if a conversation about it is not initiated by their clients and donors. In this session, you will hear from successful practitioners in the non-profit development, estate planning and financial planning fields share the various ways to introduce and discuss the role, value and feasibility of charitable bequests in the estates of donors and clients. Each panelist will share a list of practice tips and suggestions that will help you not only plant the seeds of charitable estate giving, but engage in a conversation about charitable bequests as a natural reflection of an individual’s values and aspirations.
